It's been a great week for us at the Summer Exhibition! We've had nearly constant, full-house showings of the only movie in the world to take you through a unique, 3D journey of our Cosmic Origins. We have tried to present to you the cutting-edge of our understanding of the physics of the formation of our home, the Milky Way galaxy - research led by the Institute for Computational Cosmology at Durham University.
Today is your last chance to see the movie at the Exhibition... but what's next? Maybe a U.K. tour, or an extended Director's Cut!? Those interested in the movie and exhibit can find materials at the ICC website: http://icc.dur.ac.uk. And feel free to contact us for more information.

This week our aim was to try to convey the idea that we live in a cosmic habitat - a galaxy - one of countless billions that has undergone significant evolution since the start of the Universe. What's remarkable is that we can now understand and model this evolution using the known laws of physics. This is something that we hope to have conveyed in our posters, displays and interactive exhibits - and we've had a great time discussing our research with the public.
As you may have seen, there is still much to find out... maybe next year we'll be back, with another piece of the puzzle solved. These are exciting times for our field!
